For an offsite backup of large amounts of data there are backup to cloud solutions on the market. Let’s have a closer look at Backblaze for NAS from the point of view of a Photographer.

The (technical) quality of the image is more defined by the lens than the camera used - That’s nothing new or really surprising.

How cool would it be to have and use only one lens and still be able to shoot all desired subjects?

Let’s talk about some options here.

Again, choosing the best software is a very personal choice – a bit similar to which camera system to buy. There is no ‘wrong or right’ – If it works for you and makes you sleep well at night, then it’s a good way to go for. If it makes you smile while using it, even better.

We have to keep our data safe! That’s for sure. In order to find out how to do that the smart way, we have to define our actual status quo. Taking a few smartphone photos from time to time or working as a full-time wedding Photographer are two totally different scenarios that require different hard- and software solutions.

„You only know what you had once you lost it“

This is true on so many levels and all of us have made such an experience. My personal „black day“ as a Photographer was back in 2007, when I spent a week in Moscow for a conference and a few extended photo sessions at various really cool locations. Long story short – back at the office some time later, I found out that 90% of all image material, I have thought to be safe on the server, was lost.

I had the possibility to test the Tamron 18-300mm super-zoom lens for the Fujifilm X-mount in comparison to the Fujinon 70-300mm Tele-zoom. Here are my thoughts and findings.

In times of COVID-19 lockdown we are all watching the newscasts and news channels eagerly because the feeling of insecurity is present in all of us.

In addition to all other worries, there is of course also uncertainty as to when “normal work” will be possible again. Unusual times require new approaches and ways of thinking. I am speaking here as a self-employed photographer who is "on unpaid leave for the time being". Even a planned ‘product shoot’ was canceled even though there would have been no danger to anyone in such a scenario.
